Lake Country 3" Rotary Backing Plate – 5/8"-11
Available for pre-order now. Expected in stock 7/6/26, with pickup and shipping beginning once inventory arrives.
The Lake Country 3" Rotary Backing Plate is designed for use with small 3"–3.5" hook-and-loop foam or wool pads. This compact backing plate is a good choice for tight-area buffing, spot correction, edges, consoles, transoms, and smaller gelcoat sections where a large rotary pad is too hard to control.
At Lilly Marine, we stock this backing plate for customers using smaller wool pads for marine gelcoat correction. It gives the pad a secure hook-and-loop attachment point while keeping the setup small enough for controlled work in tighter areas.
This backing plate uses a 5/8"-11 thread and is designed for compatible rotary polishers. The molded urethane construction adds some flexibility while the inner steel construction helps handle rotary use.
Best used with:
Small 3"–3.5" hook-and-loop wool or foam pads
Good for:
Tight-area correction, spot buffing, small gelcoat sections, corners, edges, consoles, transoms, and detail work where a larger pad is too aggressive or too bulky.
Key Features:
2-7/8" backing plate, commonly sold as 3"
5/8"-11 threaded connection
For rotary polishers
Works with 3"–3.5" hook-and-loop wool or foam pads
Molded urethane construction
Inner steel construction for rotary use
Grip edge helps with pad removal
Good accessory for small wool pad correction setups
Lilly Marine Tip:
Use this backing plate with smaller hook-and-loop wool pads when you need more control than a full-size rotary wool pad. Do not confuse this with the adapter for Lake Country double-sided wool pads. Double-sided wool pads use the 46-229 adapter; this backing plate is for single-sided hook-and-loop pads.
